Yankees have one of the most stacked teams in Major League Baseball. I actually do disagree with this. After reading what I have researched this week about salary caps in the various leagues it appears to me that the Yankees in particular do not care about the process the major league baseball commission has in place. The Yankees are making so much money that the “luxury tax” imposed year after year on part of the team does not seem to matter. In a recent article written by ESPN the New York Yankees might not have to pay the tax for the first time since its implementation back in 2003. “New York has paid the tax 15 straight years, for a total of $341 million”, the second closest being Washington at $203.9 million (ESPN, 2018). According to the MLB a team that goes over its threshold for the first time will pay 22 percent in taxes. A second time will see the team paying 30 percent and after that the taxes for overtures will be 50 percent. “New York and Los Angeles are set to reset their base tax rates from 50 percent to 20 percent” (ESPN, 2018). Great post brother, I enjoyed trying to keep up with you this class. I am a Yankees fan too by the way, I just don’t like people that can’t play fair. Jim ESPN. (2018, September 12). I think salary caps do a good job at keeping the playing fields even. Of course there is always some way around the

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
