It will be required for the actions on page 11 of this checklist.The system firmware updates can either found on EIS-DVD-ONE in directory .../sun/patch/SYSFW/X3-X4-X5-X6 or obtained from MOS:1.Go to & sign in,2.Click on the Patches & Updatestab (on the top),3.In the Patch Searchbox on the right side, click on Product or Family (Advanced Search),4.There are two required fields (example for X6-2):•In the Productfield enter X6-2and select the correct item.•In the Releasefield use the pull-down to select the latest8versioneg X6-2 SW 22.214.171.124.Click Search.6.A new screen will appear with the Patch Search Results. Unzipping will produce a number of directories & files; the firmware filename will be similar to: ILOM-4_0_2_26_r125868-Oracle_Server_X6-2.pkg.MEMORY DIMM FAULT BEST PRACTICESTSC are seeing many DIMMs being replaced in the field due to initial boot up and Memory DIMM fault either due to Memory DIMM movement during shipping or improper seating during memory upgrades.If Memory DIMM faults are encountered during the installation or upgrade of any X86 system, please follow the "BEST PRACTICE" as supplied by the hardware team.Best Practice for resolving DIMM Faults during Installation or upgrade:1.We (TSC) are recommending the reseating of Memory DIMMs when seeing faults during installation or memory upgrades, as a first step.2.If we see these failures outside of upgrades or rack installs, we don't want to take the chance and risk of a second visit if they're truly failed Memory DIMMs. So we recommend, in these instances, to simply replace the Memory DIMM. If the replaced Memory DIMM experiences Training errors, then it might be prudent to reseat the Memory DIMM.
