To maximize performance in any company each department must function to deliver the operational goal of the company. The reporting and descriptive research would have allowed management to gather questions and listen to the research provided by each department. Information like “Toyota introduced electronic throttle controls in 2002 for certain Camry and Lexus models, and since that time consumer complaints to the NHTSA about sudden acceleration have quadrupled for these models…” (Nader, R, 2010, p.1). The sales division would have to provide data on the sales return for those models; the production department would have returned data on the car and its original design functions and explained how acceleration could happen.
