The employee will check 1 out of every 100 parts produced. They will retrieve a short screw, long screw, short jaw, long jaw, and check them at the quality table with a series of NO/GO gauges. The clamp jaws will need a thread check gauge as well as two NO/GO gauges to check the through hole and the countersink hole. The jaw will also be placed on a block with two pins that are distanced the exact amount the two holes should be in or to check for dimensional accuracy of the spacing of the holes. The screws will need their threads checked so they will be threaded down into a correctly sized and tapped hole, as well as a visual check on the knurling, specifically any sort of mis-knurling. Safety and Ergonomic Plan The Safety and Ergonomic Plan that we have devised is based on personal safety requirements for all of the workers as well as specialty training for the machinist. For the personal safety requirements we will require for all workers to wear safety shoes or steel toed boots, wear overalls for protective clothing, wear goggles or safety glasses for eye protection, and gloves to protect the workers hands. Before sending the operators onto the work floor we will require them to go through special training on the cnc mills and lathes. We will also require each shift to ensure that their area is clean before leaving for each day. Personal Protective Equipment & Housekeeping When using the Bandsaw one should wear an overall, safety boots and gloves. The overall should protect the user from bodily harm such as scratches and cuts. The 14

safety boots should be robust enough to hold any piece is falling from hurting the toes or the legs. Employees should maintain excellent housekeeping for each machine & for the floor of working place. Rugs should be used to clean oil on machines if there. Also, chips should be brushed from the workpiece and collected in small box. Employee Information and Training The user of CNC and Band saw machines should undergo training on the usage of the machines including the parts and the maintenance of it. This ensures that the CNC & Band saw user knows how to repair machines in case of a small problem in it. Operator Sequence of Operations and Operator Balance Chart Basically, there are five kinds of operator. Bar feeders and the lath machines are connected to each other. The whole production needs 11 bar feeders and 11 lath machines. The team consider that 4 operators run two bar feeders and two lath machines, and one operator for three bars and three lath machines. Here are the chart 15

show the operator sequence of operations and the time for each step: In the clamp manufacturing, one operator for two band saw machine, operator for two mill machines and one operator for deburr machine. Here are the charts show the sequence and time for each step.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
