importantly aging, which is what this paper is about. As the weeks pass, Mitch observes the havoc Lou Gehrig's disease is wreaking on the body of his professor’s once vigorous body. Every Tuesday that Mitch visited Morrie, he brought him food to eat. However, Morrie’s condition has worsened to the extent that he is no longer able to enjoy solid food. Generally, as people age, the taste buds that are needed to enjoy the full range of flavors in food gradually start to diminish. Also, since less saliva is produced, the mouth tends to feel dry often. This explains why Morrie was unable to enjoy solid food. During his interview with Nightline, Morrie admitted that the thing he dreaded most of his worsening condition was that one day he would have to ask someone to wipe himself after using the bathroom. As the weeks passed by, Morrie’s health deteriorated, and he had to be confined to a wheelchair. Eventually, his fear came to pass as he had now been reduced to asking someone to wipe his behind. As people age, muscle strength tends to decrease and this explains why Morrie had to ask for someone to clean him after using the bathroom.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
