For the company like Barclays it is required for them to keep their managers and employeesmotivated so that they can be more productive. Barclays will help the manager tounderstand the need of the theory with the help of these they can able to understand theneeds of the employees and the stakeholder to motivate them. The Process Theories:1.Vroom’s Expectancy Theory: this theory places an emphasis on the process as wellas on the content of the motivation as well. This theory aims to explain on how thepeople choose from the available actions. There are three factors:Expectancy: In which a person will belief on more effort will result onsuccess. Instrumentality: in which a person thinks there is connectivity among theactivity and goal.
Valence: the degree to which a person appreciate the reward and the result ofsuccess. Barclay can implement the theory from the first day which is in the recruitment andselection. In which the recruitment will be on qualification as well as they will be posted inthe department were they can be perfect which will create interest among the employees.Employees expect the response from the employer on the work which they have done. InBarclays they anticipate the employees work. 2.Adams' Equity Theory: the equity theory states that the people will motivate ifthey are treated equitably and they expect they receive on whatever they have giventhe efforts and cost. People compare their contribution to their work, cost of theiractions.

Limitations:Lacks Empirical Research: In the content theories there has been lack of research which has been done. In thesetheories the Maslow’s theory is one of the oldest on which has been followed by everyone.However there has been a less research which has been conducted in the same field.In the process theories there has been lack or research which may hinder the goal ofunderstanding the motivational theories. Individual Difference:In the content theory it has been seen that each individual has a different behavior and theyare not always prompted by his or her consciousness. So the theories cannot be accurate tomeasure the motivation in the organization like Barclays.In the process theory it has been applied the same as motivation can affect differently ondifferent people. So how the motivation works in the individual will be not accurate.(Woods et al. 2018). Cultural differencesOn content theory it has been seen that Maslow suggest that the higher order needsdepends on the fulfillment of the lower order needs. It will be far more convincing in abroad sense that between people and across cultures it may vary. In little culture theharmony is much needed then self actualization (Short, McKenny and Reid, 2018).
