believe that she is simply explaining a controversy that many parents have now-a-days compared to what she had has a kid in her generation. It doesn’t seem that she is really offering an open opinion on the issue. She only seems to state that parents have a tough challenge ahead of them in raising kids and keeping then safe. 5. Which details in the final version do you think are especially effective (be specific)? Why is it important for writers to include specific details throughout their essays? I believe that the details that the writer uses that are effective are when she is discussing the distractions that teens have in the life. One distraction being the internet, MP3 players, and T.V.’s in their rooms. It is important to provide specifics because it really lets the readers know exactly what the issue is and what to compare it to. 6. The conclusion to the revised version expands the scope of the paper by ending with a new but related issue: that parents have to strike a balance between their need to provide limitations and their children's need for freedom. How effective do you think it is to end a conclusion to a paper by introducing a new but related issue? I believe that it is effective if you are looking to bring the topic up again in another paper or discussion to come. It is a bad idea to bring in a new topic at the end of a paper if you are not going to elaborate.

Although, because it is a related issue and one that is general in discussion it is easy for other readers to elaborate on that themselves. 7. This paper does not contain any sources aside from the TV programs the writer refers to. How could sources improve this paper? Where could the writer go for sources for this paper? Sources could add a much needed reference for new parents so that they have somewhere to look at for a reference on the subject. The writer could use a search engine to find sources on her subject. Doing this could help the writer find other people who are discussing the topic and she could use that to help make her topic more embedded into the reader’s interest.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
