Association for Creativity in CounselingThe Association for Creativity in Counseling is an organization dedicated to counselors, counselor educators, and counseling students interested in creative, diverse, and relational approaches to counseling. This organization strives to promote counseling approaches that support a positive and progressive relationship with clients by committing to research and defining competencies that facilitate good-will, appropriate use of power, and empathetic personal and professional connections (ACC, 2017).Any counselor that is a member of this organization would benefit greatly from the competencies they have put together to enhance the counselor-client relationship. It is also interesting to see the different and creative ways the organization has come up with to find that connection with different types of clients (ACC, 2017). Counselors for Social JusticeThe Counselors for Social Justice (CSJ) has a mission to “work to promote social justice in our society through confronting oppressive systems of power and privilege that affect professional counselors and our clients and to assist in the positive change in our society through the professional development of counselors” (CSJ, 2017). This organization helps counselors better understand child abuse both as a counselor and through the legal system, as well as, schoolviolence prevention and intervention, inmate partner violence, and abuses in the military (CSJ, 2017). The CSJ has a list of competencies for counselors to better understand social justice issues and how to ethically and professionally handle them with a client. The competencies help
