Comparing a) Context Your company has decided to move its premises to another part of Hong Kong because rents in Central have become too high. Look at the table below, which shows some information about available premises in North Point and West Kowloon. Which location would be best? Why? Location Size (sq feet) Rent per sq foot (HK$) Running costs per year (HK$) Time to nearest MTR Central (current location) 2400 66 1.82m 1 min North Point 2500 60 1.60m 6 mins West Kowloon 2700 47 1.65m 12 mins 64 © CPBE 2019 Photo credit: Ariel view of Hong Kong © Mstyslav Chernov Licence: Creative Commons 3.0 Source: No warranty. b) Now read the report and complete it with phrases from the box below a lot further considerably less in comparison with roughly the same almost as much considerably more not nearly as much as slightly larger Introduction The following report assesses which of two available office premises - one in North Point, the other in West Kowloon - would be the most suitable for Asian Dragon to relocate to, as our current location in Central has become too expensive. The full report is attached as a Word document, but I have included a brief summary below. Findings Size Both locations are about the same size, but West Kowloon is …………………….……… However, both are large enough for our requirements. Rent Rent in North Point is ……………………………… than that in West Kowloon, and …………………….……… as what we are paying now in Central. ………….……………….. our current rent, West Kowloon would be about 30% cheaper. Running costs The running costs at both locations are ………………………………….and ……………………………… our current running costs in Central. Location In terms of access to the MTR, both locations are …………………………………… convenient than our current location. In particular, staff would have to walk ……………………………………to reach the office if we moved to West Kowloon. Conclusion The evidence seems to indicate that both locations go some way towards fulfilling our needs, but neither meets all our needs. Recommendation Since cost is the overwhelming factor in choosing a suitable location, it is recommended that we relocate to West Kowloon in order to take advantage of the cheaper rent. 65 © CPBE 2019

3.6 Interpreting findings: Conclusions Conclusions are what you think about the facts and how you interpret them. Sometimes it may be possible to simply present an account of the facts as you find them. At other times, it may not be possible to claim 100% confidence about what the facts mean. In this case, you may need to interpret your findings and point out their significance to the reader. For example: Conclusions 1 Morale is clearly very low and urgent action is needed to improve it. 2 Supervisors appear unable to enforce compliance with rules governing health and mk safety standards.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
