? Advantage- extra income to satisfy the many aspirations now taken for granted by those wealthier. ? Personal satisfaction- working hard because you enjoy what you do ? Independence- motivated towards self-direction and independence. “being your own boss” ? Encouragement, praise, and recognition- self explanatory ? Money- pay is important. Working for money ? Company policy- working for fringe benefits (insurance, vacation, etc.) and good working conditions. What are the differences between Theory X and Y? Theory X: People do not really like to work, so they must be “coerced, controlled, directed, threatened with punishment” to get them to work. Average worker avoids responsibility, is un ambitious, and wants security more than anything. Management in Theory X is fatherlike at best, and authoritarian at the very least. Rewards and punishment are like the “carrot and the stick” with a horse.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
