attention it can be a bit of a hassle. This compounded with the never-ending possibility of hold ups and delays and it can turn scheduling from a hassle to a nightmare. One way companies handle scheduling and scheduling sensitivity is Critical Chain Scheduling and Buffer

THE IMPACT OF AIR CARGO OPERATIONS 3 Management (CC/BM) ( also referred to as Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA)) “CC/BM relies on deterministic scheduling techniques in order to build a resource feasible schedule that is made robust by inserting various types of buffers (project buffer, feeding buffer, resource buffer), and improves the schedule performance during project execution to meet the deadline through buffer monitoring. Consequently, the size of buffers and how they are monitored directly determine the project completion time as well as the schedule risk, and hence play crucial role in the successful application of CC/BM” ( Hu, Cui and more 2016) CC/BM is necessary in the air cargo industry. There are many different types of cargo each with their own different types of packaging , requirements and storage. This can cause different variables that air cargo companies need to handle. Lastly, we have Traffic flow. Over the years our skies have become more and more congested. With the advent of drones our skies will become even more congested. So how to air cargo companies deal with traffic. One of the biggest ways air cargo companies deal with traffic is having as much of their planes as possible fly at night. Just like driving on the road there is always less traffic at night than during the day. Because of this companies like UPS, DHL, Amazon Air, and FedEx can have more direct flights to their destinations. Flying at night also comes with the advantage of getting attended to quicker by air traffic control. Since the amount of aircraft is significantly less at night, Air traffic control can attend to your needs faster and get your plane down way faster than during the day.
