become THE cause of mass extinctions caused by human activity. We can all put effort into decreasing the demand for deforestation by simply making informed food choices. Eating a plant-based diet or reducing your consumption of animal products like meat and dairy can help save forests. Buy from companies that have a commitment to reducing deforestation through forest-friendly policies. Deforestation is having a huge impact on the carbon cycle, hydrologic (water) cycle, decline in species and our world as a whole. Clearing trees doesn’t always leave a negative impact, infact cutting down some trees could actually be a good thing for our environment. We are losing sight of what’s really important. Our world as we know it, is dominated by money and completely controlled by self desire. Educate yourself and then spread awareness. Share with others that if we don’t change now there will be devastating consequences, many, already in action. Aspire to be a selfless, generous person. Be proud to give back, all it takes is one person to make a change. Be the exception; plant a tree, re-use items, go paperless, recycle and buy recycled products.

It is more blessed to give than to receive. Isn’t it a shame that if you care about making an impact on the world by being proactive about a cause or simply sharing information with others that you get labeled as a protesting hippy. It’s time to raise awareness about deforestation because like me, many people are lacking knowledge on how much of an impact it’s having on our world.
