Inspection, testing, and maintenance are keys to ensure a fire extinguisher is in working order when needed (Jones,2015). Visual inspections should be done, at a minimum, every 30 days. Certain conditions may require a more frequent schedule. Maintenance occurs annually. All extinguishers require internal examination at 1, 3, 5, or 6-year intervals. Exception: nonchargeable extinguishers. Hydrostatic testing on refillable extinguishers is critical. Depending on the type, test are either done at 5 or 12 year intervals.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
