followed, “Harvey Milk will have a dream journey, and a nightmare to hell. A night of horror,
you will be stabbed and have your genitals, cock, balls, and prick cut off”. This was the first
time there was any sign of hate against Harvey. Scott took this extremely serious, he was
scared for Harvey. Harvey on the other hand did not take this very serious, he optimistically
tells Scott that if they would kill him, people would probably give him a sympathy vote.
The movie opens up with Harvey recording his life story on a recording device. He sits in his
kitchen at home. He is still dressed in his normal work outfit, he has probably just gotten
home from a long day of work. On the table in front of him lays a recording device, a
notebook which has all the notes from which he is telling the story from. He tells us that it is
Friday, November 18, 1978. Which quite surprisingly was only 9 days before he was
murdered by Dan White. He goes on to tell us that this tape was, “…only to be played in the
event of my death, in form of assassination…”, the tone of his voice is calm. As he goes on to
talk about the memories he has made over the years, he is smiling. It is almost like one can
tell that he is frightened, that he misses those first days of recruiting his first people. He goes
on to explain that a person like him, “…who stand for what I stand for…”, can easily become a
target, for people who are afraid or insecure. At this point he has pointed out three things,
that shows us that he knows people are after him. The written story on the table, how he is
