one department in which a specific function is to be performed. As an example, a business may include separate departments for manufacturing, accounting, marketing, and human resources. Because the organization is based around functions, not projects, this business is a non-project based organization(Morley, 2016).How does communication differ for a project manager in a project-based organizationversus a non-project-based organization?Means of communication differs for project managers in project based organizations due to the fact that the different teams have barely any interaction between one another when completing projects. A project manager needs to ensure that he or she increases their level of communication as well as supervision over the different teams to ensure the completion of the projects are a success. Non-project based organizations have department leads that relay information from their business owner or owners/ project manager or managers to the team members that are assigned to a specific task. Describe two challenges that a project manager might face in a non-project-basedorganization.One of two challenges that a project manager might face in a non-project based organization is always an unrealistic timeline of events as well as set deadlines that are set for a project and awful communication starting from an organizations owner/management all the way down to their staff members. As for deadlines they are often set without evaluating all the risk involved or the expectations of the lessons that are to be learned while doing such tasks. Despite these challenges an experienced project manager can still overcome all the odds.
As a project manager in a non-project-based organization, how would you overcome thechallenges you identified?
