PCRM -- Physicians Committee for Responsible MedicinePCRM is an organization that espouses radical ideas in the form of medical research. Neal Barnard, M.D. founded the group in 1985. Their stated goals are to stop animal testing for medical research and promoting a vegan diet. A PCRM spokesman, Dr. Jerry Vlasak endorsed the murder of doctors who use animals for research purposes during a 2003 Animal Rights convention. PCRM is known to use political activism to further its cause and has been found to use false and misleading research to support its claims. It tries to present itself as a medical group when less than 5% of its membership are actual doctors. They have been sanctioned by the American Medical Association. They also have close ties with PETA. Neal Barnard sat on the PETA board as well as accepted numerous financial contributions from the group. Neal Barnard also has ties with Kevin Kjonaas, a known terrorist for the Animal Liberation Front. They cosigned letters to various agencies demanding them to stop using animal testing. PCRM has gained momentum over the years with various organizations providing money and support.
Craig RosebraughCraig Rosebraugh is a political activist and a former spokesman for Earth (and Animal) Liberation Front. Rosebraugh is a graduate of the Institute for Social Ecology, where his proposed Master’s thesis was titled “Rethinking Nonviolence: Arguing for the Legitimacy of Armed Struggle.” The Earth Liberation Front (ELF) and its sister organization the Animal Liberation Front (ALF) are believed responsible for some 600 criminal acts between 1996 and 2002 and some $43 million in damages. Rejecting state sanctioned means of legal protest, ELF uses economic sabotage to inflict financial suffering on those deemed objectionable.
