Colour and weave effect patterns are usually made by using small weaves such as plain, 2/2 matt/ basket, or 2/2 twill with 1:1, 2:2, 4:4 and 6:6 colouring. 8:8 or 12:12 colouring or other simple twill weaves would not be classified as colour and weave effect, but regarded as simple two colour check. They usually need very few harnesses (2 to 4), but need multi- shuttle box weft insertion systems. Now shuttle-less weaving machines are popular and weft colouring system is very flexible. These patterns are common in woollen and worsted fabrics and have better effect on courser yarns. So in these two sectors of the industry, there are many multi-shuttle box looms and can be made on tappet weaving machines.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
