Par 6). This case becomes worse during college years because “professors' policies toward cellphones vary considerably” (Schoenberg Par 12). This gives the students the choice of paying attention or joins the world of social networking, which results in a considerable amount of lost information. Nowadays, even the studying styles changed to where it is comprised of “ iPod

blaring, cellphone buzzing with text message, Facebook page open and, off to the side, an open textbook” (“Facebook Impact” Par 6 ). Needless to say, students who spend most of their time offline had a higher GPA average as oppose to those who are always on Facebook, or Myspace, etc. Students spend most of their time online rather than offline, studying. Since there is no time limit on networking sites, students tend to waste more time on them just scrolling through the feed. One of the biggest problems with students is procrastination and social networking is a huge contributing factor. Social networking is commonly associated as a detriment for many people because it easily consumes time and causes a big distraction. With an increase in the usage of social networking, the failure of the educational system within our society is inevitable. The social networking addiction decreases the concentration level of the students thus decreasing the academic performance at the same time. Therefore, we must take actions in limiting ourselves of usage of social networking. Social networking can become an addiction that can lead to serious problems. Rather than socializing in person, we enter “an age [where] Internet devices are always on, meeting face-to- face is becoming increasingly rare as people choose to meet screen-to-screen” (Pilieci Par 8). Sometimes, it has reached a point where people would rather stay at home and check Facebook than to go out. This becomes a huge issue in our society because people are spending less time with each other and it is “leading to people becoming isolated from each other” (Parks Par 15). Eventually, the isolations will shift to “depression and loneliness” (Parks Par 15). Although the advances of social networking connect us over long distances, it drives us farther apart from the ones that are actively present in our everyday lives. From my experience, I can see that my own family relationships have become strained because throughout the day instead of catching up with my younger sister, we are both busy social networking on our devices. Relationships should

not be that way; we should always try to make time for our family and friends without the disturbance of technology. Often time when people glue themselves to these social networking sites, they also lose touch with their love ones and miss out on the wonderful thing life has to offer.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
