d. Facilitate the identification of new genes. 3. Below is drawn of a schematic of an mRNA, along with the boundaries indicating where exons were joined together during the processing of the primary RNA. Indicate the open reading frame (ORF), both untranslated regions (UTRs), the 5’ and 3’ ends of the mRNA, and the regions where introns once were in the primary RNA. https://www.coursehero.com/file/10172633/20141002-StudyQuestions-answered/ This study resource was shared via CourseHero.com

4. Ebola virus can be transmitted both from animals to humans and from human to human. Below is a phylogenetic tree created using the genome sequences of Ebola virus isolates, with each clade corresponding to samples from an outbreak in a different location. Do any of the different outbreaks appear likely to have been caused by travel of an infected human from one place to another? Yes, the viruses found in Sierra Leone and Guinea (2014) are highly related, suggesting that these outbreaks likely originated from one transmission event of virus from animals to humans. The Zaire and Gabon (1994 – 1996) cases also appear relatively closely related.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
