There are several studies in this particular article that tell us that children at young ages need to have a full conversation to benefit correctly for learning words and memorizing them. For instance, in the article it states; “quality of the communication between children and their parents and care givers, the researchers say, is much greater importance than the number of words a child hears” (Quenque, 2014). Just think if a child were to hear only the word “toe” several times repeatedly. The child would only know that one word. If a child hears or tries to have a meaningful conversation, they will not hear the same word over and over. They will be able to her multiple words and possibly understand why that word may be used in the sentence they heard. In the article it states; “It’s about having these fluid conversations around shared ritual and objects, like pretending to have morning coffee together or using the banana as a phone. That is the stuff from which language is made” (Quenque, 2014). This statement is telling us that if a child has a conversation and listens
