is security vs privacy. Databases need to be secure and the information in them kept private. But what about a social media database that allows users to share information with friends and family? It is important to design a secure database that will only allow information to be shared only if the user choses to share it. Knowingly allowing this data to be accessed by parties that were not granted permission is unethical and this type of design should be avoided. The second value discussed is digital rights management, or DRM. Some databases may act as a repository for protected content that should only be shared if the original author choses to sell it, license it, or otherwise distribute it. DRM allows that author to distribute their original content to one person who paid for it, while not allowing it to be redistributed, or downloaded by someone that has not paid for it. An example of this type of design is Apple Music service. A user can pay for, download, and enjoy music as they wish, but they cannot share it or distribute it to their friends and family. This type of design protects the original author of the content and allows for compensation for their original work. It cannot be shared

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
