In the beginning she is scattered and brought down by her family, but in the end she as found herself through her religion and discovered her love for Raskolnikov.•She was Raskolnikovs‟savior. Her love gave him the strength to go on living his life and provided him hope for the future.o“They were renewed by love; the heart of each help infinite sources of life to the heart of the other” (429).ILYA PETROVITCH:•A police official whom Raskolnikov met at the beginning of the book when he had to go to the police station right after the committed the murder.•Eventually Raskolnikov confessed to murdering the old woman to him at the end of the booko“The Explosive Lieutenant stood before him.
