really been involved in following an election prior to this one and every time Iwould see something on the news about polls it always stated there was no chance Hilary Clinton would not become the next President of the United States. Obviously, everyone now knows the outcome of the election, and so many news stations had their jaws on the floor the next day and referred to the same polls. It is impossible to find out which way everysingle voting American is choosing to vote in an election. In order to conduct an accurate poll, there must be random samples of people to represent the population. In order to get random samples with political polling all members ofthe population must be represented, and that can be difficult to do. Another issue with this is certain portions of the population are excluded such as students, military bases and the homeless (Frost, 2012). I think the reason the polls wereproven wrong with the election of our current president is it is very difficult to know whether or not the sample you have for a poll is inclusive and equal toall members of the population.
