what they are saying. Also, listening brings people together because of how inclusive it is, when you’re truly listening to someone you are engaging in what they are saying and understanding their feelings and experiences which is not easy to do. Since entering this class I have tried to focus on listening a lot, because it is the closest thing we must bring in someone else’s shoes. The last chapter has to do with being assertive, this is very important when you are having a conversation with someone, because if you’re a not sure of yourself the person you are talking to will not take you seriously. Therefore, it is very important to be sure of how you want to communicate something to someone. I fail at this a lot, when I am having a conversation with someone a lot of times I think about what I am going to say while I am having the conversation instead of coming into the conversation knowing what it is I need to say. This at times has made my claims illegitimate, but had I been assertive and known what I wanted to say my experiences may had been taking a lot more serious. I enjoyed these chapters, they made me think about if I was ever in these situations and if I was how I dealt with them. In this way I was able to reflect on how the difficult conversations I have had in the past went and how I will go about them in the future.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
