opportunities to the students to improve. Respect, civility, common courtesy and communication
are the expected standards of conduct essential to this process
There is NO LATE WORK ACCEPTED and NO MAKE-UPS including missed assignments,
quizzes, exams or extra credit options. For EXCUSED ABSENCES (see paragraph in this
Syllabus titled Absence/Tardy Policy), late work may be accepted for up to 24 hours after the
excused absence or students may be offered an optional assignment of equivalent value if
requested by the student via email within 24 hours of the excused absence to be submitted within
the time frame set by the professor. Extenuating circumstances will be handled on a case by case
basis.
If a deadline is not set out for an assignment, then the assignments is due before the
beginning of the next scheduled class after the assignment is posted or distributed.
An
assignment will be considered late if submitted and/or received after the deadline or the due date
and time. Submissions to Canvas LMS are the required submission mode unless otherwise
specified in the assignment. No email submissions will be accepted. This facilitates the grading
process, but also locks out submissions after the deadline, which means assignments may not
appear on the students’ online screen devices after the due date. Technology glitches are to be
anticipated and are not reasons for missed submissions or late work. Contact your Instructor via
the official St. Edward’s email (setting out the course number in the subject line) in the event of
any major problems, but do not submit your assignments via email. If email service is down call
your Instructor at the listed telephone numbers (leave voice mail).
