I feel that I could relate this to my paper because it is showing the problems and the factors that lead up to our Global Financial Crisis, and how some possible ways to fix the problems. Crotty doesn’t just speak from his own knowledge; he draws on other people to back up his argument so that it appears more credible. Since my paper deals with the Global Financial Crisis and how it’s affected our society, this article could be very important to my paper when drawing ideas together. Payne, Richard J. “The Global Financial Crisis.” The Global Issues. New York : Longman, 2010. 148-63. In this text Payne begins to break down our economy and shows us many factors that could have lead up to the Global Financial Crisis. He first goes into the history of governments in general and highlights the fact that financial crises are a trend throughout time. It has to do with humans and their greediness so they never learn from their mistakes. These crises usually happen because dominant countries’ economies fail and it affects the rest of the world because they are a superpower and they are intertwined with other economies and other economies depended on whether the more dominant countries’ economies flourish or not. He illustrates, the different financial innovations that were put into place that were very risky when it came to banks and big corporations handling money and loans.
