Gournia: 2 nd palace period; central structure find spot of cache of goddess figurines Deposition room for goddess figurines -Found in storage room in corner of central structure -Deposition was neither careful or careless -Assumption of G. Gesell is that goddess figurines (her  ‘girls’) had been on display in ritual area but when too  many came to be deposited, the old ones were cleared  away. Because they’re religious, they could not merely  be discarded so placed in storage area.  Found in storage room -standing in structure -goddess figurines
