we are being restored to the image that we were supposed to be in. We are in the process of being re-created. Since we were made to image God, we are being transformed be more like Christ. Jesus is the perfect image of God and that is why we are being restored/ recreated to hisimage. Colossians 1:15 says that Christ is the image of the invisible God, so that proves that Jesus is the perfect image of God. This invisible God becomes visible in Christ, the incarnation. We were created to bring God glory and to bring him pleasure.Creation/ God as Creator: God did not need any materials to create because he is self-sustaining. God brought into existence everything that exists. He spoke things into existence byspeaking them into existence. For example, in Genesis 1:3-24, each subject is spoken into existence. Each account of creation in chapter 1 starts out with “and then God said”. God did not need anything to create. In Genesis 2:7, it says that God created man from the dust and then breathed into their nostrils. Then man became a living creature. God created out of nothing. The Trinity was working together during creation.. God did not create because he needed company or because he is deficient, but, because he wanted to display his glory amongthe earth. Isaiah 43:6-7 says, “I will say to the north, Give up, and to the south, Do not withhold; bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the end of the earth, everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made” (ESV). Whether or not Genesis 1-11 is a myth, God still had to create and he continues to create. His work is not done.We were created in his image and we were created for his glory. God not only loves his creation, but he likes his creation and calls it “good”. The earth that God created is billions of years old. God created the earth in six days and rested on the seventh day but those six days
6could have been new creative periods of creation. The earth displays the work of God. Creation displays the glory of God and God delights in his earth. The Trinity: The word Trinity is not used in the Bible, but it refers to the Godhead (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). The Trinity is not three separate gods, but one God and three distinct persons within the Godhead. These three different persons work together simultaneously, but each has a unique function to himself. Each person of the Trinity is divine and each person is eternal. The Father may have a distinct role during a situation and the Son may have a different role and the same with the Spirit. This does not mean that one is inferior tothe other in essence, but reveals that the Trinity works alongside each other. It is evident that in Matthew 6:26-32 that the Father cares about his creation and in 1 Corinthians 8:6, the Father’s deity is made evident. The Son is also divine and Paul writes in Colossians 2:9 that the fullness of deity dwells in Christy bodily. The Holy Spirit is shown as divine in Acts 5:3-4 when Ananias and Sapphira lie to the Holy Spirit; they are ultimately lying to God. These three distinct persons
