160 WORKBOOK | © 2018 SOCIAL MEDIA COLLEGE 10118NAT DIPLOMA OF SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING | CONTENT MARKETING_V2.0 4.5 Managing the Project The content creation process is often complex, and it can be challenging to keep track of the individuals, tasks and processes. If the project is not managed carefully there is a risk that quality falls, errors are made and deadlines are missed. No organisation can risk publishing content that has not gone through a designated process of checks and balances, even if you are working as a small in-house team. Managing the Team If you outsource the creation of content to freelancers, you will have to manage these relationships in the same way that you would manage an internal team of staff. Freelancers usually work remotely and have little connection to your company culture and in-house procedures. Motivating and inspiring loyalty from a disparate team of remote workers can be difficult, but this is a skill that all content marketers should master – it is estimated that 40% of workers globally will be freelancers by 2020. Similarly, a creative agency will have their own people management processes in place to manage the staff at the agency, or the freelancers that they use. Nevertheless, you will still need to manage the relationship with the agency to ensure that deadlines are met and challenges are appropriately dealt with. Guiding principles for managing freelancers or agencies include: f Motivation. Even though you may not see a freelancer or agency worker every day, they still need to be motivated to work hard. All individuals need to feel appreciated and valued, and that their work has a purpose. Often freelancers complete a piece of work, however do not see the results that this work contributes to the company. Offer positive reinforcement and appreciation for their work, and report back on how their work performed.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
