Given this, the study focuses on data gathered from January 2014 to June 2014. The study is limited only to the in-store service time and processes since the researchers could not observe the outdoor service time and processes. Any delay in the outdoor service time like traffic jams encountered by the rider and other unforeseen circumstances such as waiting for elevators in commercial buildings and condominiums will also not be a part of the study. The process scope starts with the store accepting customer delivery orders this is where the 30 minutes turnaround time begins, and it will end when the rider goes out of the branch to deliver the product. KFC Shaw Branch operates from 8AM to 12 AM daily. The delivery service offered by KFC Shaw Branch is from 9AM to 11PM daily.
However, the focus of the study will only be limited to the peak hour orders (11AM to 1PM) since at that time period, the orders come at a very fast rate. For the study, the teams involved are the delivery service team and scheduling team of the KFC Shaw branch located at Shaw Blvd. cor. Marie Lane St. Bo. Kapitolyo, Pasig City. KFC delivery service handles customers within a 1.5 mile-radius. The delivery service team of the store consists of four positions interacting; Delivery Service Operators (DSO), Assemblers, Dispatchers, and Riders. All of them come from 3rd party members.
