refers to a normal distribution of performance among the workforce measured by performance ratings. When plotted, the ratings end up looking like the bell curve in Figure 9 since most employees will be average performers. Figure 9 "Today, goals are no longer pushed from the top level to the bottom but emerge through collaboration and are the result of a dynamic interplay between levels and various parts of the organization.” [The17] To utilize the typical bell-curve, managers had to re-categorize employees and good performers would be labelled as average to fit the curve. This invisible moderation resulted in unhappy and disengaged employees [The17] . Accenture is shifting away from the annual performance management approach to a new performance achievement approach. Accenture goes on to reveal that the new approach is about real-time, futuristic conversations about setting priorities, growth and creating career opportunities for employees that will focus on the achievements and talents of each employee [The17] . Hence, management will spend their time coaching and conversing with employees rather than on all the paperwork of the old performance management approach. Employee Culture, Employer Relations and Practices “What has always made Accenture special is our diverse ‘culture of cultures’ that embraces our core values and shared commitment to operating with the highest ethical standards.” [Acc172] Their six core values—Client Value Creation, One Global Network, Respect for the Individual, Best People, Integrity and Stewardship—shape the culture and define 22

the character of Accenture [Acc172]. Accenture’s emphasis on their core values is reflected in the following ways: Client value creation involves a responsive, relevant, innovative and high-performance service delivery. Accenture’s constant innovation and industry expertise deliver value creation across technology, consulting and business process outsourcing. Respect for the individual is reflected in Accenture’s high value on diversity and unique contributions. In 2017, Accenture ranked 14 th among the “Top 50 Companies for Diversity” and has been on the annual list since 2007 [Div17]. Gender equality is another highly valued goal. In 2016, Accenture’s workforce was 39% women, and the goal of a completely balanced workforce of 50% women and 50% men by 2025 has been set. Integrity is another core value of Accenture. Accenture first appeared on Ethisphere Institute’s “World’s most Ethical Companies List” in 2008 and has remained on that list for the last ten years [Eth18].

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
