AnalysisThere are a lot of controversies of how religion is acceptable to better the world. Somepeople believe that it is the responsibility of the government. Meanwhile, some others disagreeand believe a society needs to be united around a shared theme. An article in USA today statedthat: "This big experiment of turning us from a Christian nation into a secular one isn't going sowell. It's no coincidence that our problems get bigger as we make God smaller" (USA Today,2011). The major issue of Christian is that it has been hard to evaluate or examine theconsequences of being involved in a Christian life. "The normative statements of Christian faithand life, for example, are so very elevated, while the people who are Christians are so veryordinary. There is typically a glaring gap between what people profess to believe and what theyactually do and appear to be in their everyday lives" (How Christianity Coopts ItsContradictions, 2000). There is still a different between how to open up an ideal Christian aspirecompare to the ability of Christian people to live that life in spite of the unconditional andforgiveness of God. The Sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross is just help to clean the sin of human, itcannot make people to become perfect and have ability to live without sins. In the Bible, it statedthat only Jesus Christ is perfect and clear from sins. The similarities and differences between Catholic Worldview and Christian Worldview3
I have been in Catholic since I was born until now and I considered there are a lot ofsimilarities between Catholic and Christian worldview. And of course, there are many differencesbetween Christian and Catholic as well. The first similarity is about the belief of God, both ofthem believe: “There is only one God: The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. There are threepersons of God but all three unity in One Unity” (Comparison between Catholic and Christian). One God can behave like the other Ones and they all have the same power and the same love tohumanity. Second, both Catholic and Christian believe in the life after Death. Good people willhave Eternal Salvation in Heaven and bad people will have Eternal Damnation in Hell. It alsoexists a “temporal third state before Heaven for those who desire purification which is known asPurgatory” (Comparison between Catholic and Christian). Third, we both have inherited“original sin” from Adam. Human being is the inherently evil and needs a forgiveness for theirsin. The major differences between Catholic and Christian Worldview is about the confession.
