We will provide specific information on exams a few days beforehand. You choose when to make your single attempt while the midterm is open. You do not need to schedule the date. There are no make-ups for the mid-term. IMPORTANT NOTE: The professor reserves the right to ask any student to take the midterm or final exam in person. If asked for an in-person exam, it will be either for reasons that we suspect students may have sat next to others, consulted forbidden sources or worked with others inappropriately on quizzes or because we feel that by doing so the student or students might likely perform better on the exam. FINAL EXAM: T he exam is online at a location of your choice, take in iLearn -- 400 course points The final exam will be cumulative (comprehensive) covering the entire semester. More questions will be from the second half of the class and fewer from the first. We make no special arrangements to accommodate individual student travel plans for quizzes or exams. We will provide specific information on exams a few days beforehand. You decide when to take your one attempt; the final will be available all during finals week. Study Abroad Students/Students Taking the Course from Remote Locations It is important if you are taking this course from another city or are participating in a study abroad program that you let us know during the first week of the semester. What is Covered in the Examinations Content covered in the exams includes everything covered from anywhere in the e-Text. There will also be critical reasoning questions based on concepts presented there. These will be thinking questions which cannot be simple “looked up” – rather, you will need to be able to think through to the logical, best answer. The exam will be open book but students must work alone. Evidence of working with others or sitting next to others while taking exams can result in failing grades. What You Cannot Use or Do You cannot use any electronic sources of information such as notes in Word or electronic online dictionaries. If you move to an electronic source while taking an exam, iLearn® will show that and you will receive a zero on the exam, which means failing the course. Other than looking at the e-Text in Mylab, once opened you must not leave the exam window in iLearn® . Do not check any online sources, documents or lectures. You must have only the exam window open and stay there until you complete the exam once started. The only exception is the Mylab E-text which you may use during exams, but nothing else. Even if you keep the exam open, you are not allowed to look at anything else electronically. For example, if iLearn® access reports indicate you had the exam open but were going to other sections of iLearn® to review forum posts, links ,

study guides – anything but the exam itself and the E-text – you will be given a zero for that exam with no recourse for a make-up .
