Wickham has no other advantage but his attractive physical appearance. From his point of view, love is just recreation. Because he was in trouble with a large debt, he entices Lydia and easily gets her love. When their love does not get the permission from the parents, they elope together.Indeed, because Lydia is no charming and has nothing to attract him,he does not love her.Wickham would not marry her but for the wealth of her family. In Jane Austen’s mind, the most important thing of a marriage is mutual attraction. Betraying his or her heart will never own true love. Austen puts a great deal of emphasis on true love because it is much more cherishing than money and social position.Elizabeth, the heroine in the fiction, is a loyal follower of her own affection. She encourages her sister Jane to pursue true love with Bingley. She also has disagreement of Caroline’s purpose of only marring Darcy- a gentleman whose fortune and position are a great appeal to herself, without her affection. In the novel,Elizabeth refuses Collins without hesitation, because she knows that, the gentleman thinks that her character, her appearance and her family background, all are fit to be his wife, regardless of their love.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
