Research shows that the “Urging the Secretary of Veteran’s Affair’s to prioritize the hiring of mental health professionals (258)”, act will improve the amount of mental health professionals provided to our military. According to Chevalier et al. (2014), it is estimated that 30% of returning service members suffer from post- traumatic stress disorder and/or traumatic brain injuries (this does not include other mental health illnesses). This has been severely increasing the rates of suicide among service members, yet only roughly 35% of service members seek mental health services within one year of returning from deployment. I believe that increasing the availability of mental health services will encourage more military members to seek help. I encourage you to support this bill to help increase the amount of mental health professionals provided to our military. This bill is aiming to hire more mental health care professionals to help care for military members. Over the past 15 years, we have been seeing a significant increase in a need for mental health care for service members. Please consider supporting and cosponsoring the “Urging the Secretary of Veteran’s Affair’s to prioritize the hiring of mental health professionals (258)”. Sincerely, Melissa Constantineau Registered Nurse

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
