couple of exceptions: In learning mode you will be able to access lab and
diagnostic tests (if you wish, but they are not necessary for your task), and
gain in case mentor prompts/assistance. You will also get to review your
report.
Note: Once you complete the learning mode simulation, an image of an ‘eye’
[highlighted in green below] will appear to the left of the case under the
Attempts Status heading on the Assignments page. You may click on the eye
to review your case playback. An image of a piece of paper [highlighted in
blue below] will appear to the left of the case under the Report heading. You
may click on that image to view your report. The indication of whether a case
is completed will be displayed as <# of #> under the Exercises completed
heading. Again, you may not review your test mode reports.
When you have completed your high stakes simulation assessment, your
results will be scored and a report generated within 24 hours. You will receive
your results in your Degree Plan within 48 hours after submission. Your
course mentor will have access to your report, so reach out if you would like
to discuss your results. And you may engage in any of the cases (other than
assigned) for additional learning opportunities!
The High Stakes Simulation Case
You made it this far! The end is in sight!

Once you have completed your learning experiences (learning and test
modes) with Bill Buxton, you should be prepared to engage in your ‘high
stakes’ simulation. Like your prior iHuman simulations, where you had an
extended period of time to go in-and-out of the assignment (30 days), you
will also have that extended time to complete your high stakes
simulation .
Your final simulation case is Ariela Hernandez!
Once you complete this case, your results will be generated and a checkered
flag will appear next to the case in the Assignment list. The results of your
final simulation should be visible in your Degree Plan within 48 hours.
Helpful Hints
Now that you have an overview of the cases and the experience,
let’s backtrack a bit and look at the ‘How to interact with iHuman’
specifics.
**There will be an ‘Interview Progress Button’ (may appear as
‘Pre-test’ in your scenarios (except Ariela). It will enable you to
receive feedback on the number of required questions you have
asked in a category and how many remain to be answered.
o History and Physical Examination (HPE)
o Patient History – subjective information from patient –response to
questions
 Presenting Complaint/Illness (PC/PI) – what brought
patient to the clinic
 History of presenting complaint (HPC) – details of onset,
duration, nature of illness, relieving or aggravating factors
 Past medical History (PMH) – previous diagnoses,
procedures, comorbidities

