To be interested in both questions of form and content Media texts could be a tv show, a book, a poster, a podcast, an essay, a social media post, a billboard, a street sign, etc. Media analysis 1) Description: What and how is this media communicating? 2) Analysis: What patterns can be identified within and outside the text? 3) Interpretation: What do these patterns mean? Why are they designed this way? 4) Evaluation: Take a position based on your analysis and interpretation 5) Engagement: Share your position with others EXAMPLES: Media analysis of social media, podcasts, television shows, posters, “memes’, “GIFS”, movies Core concepts, key questions All media messages are constructed . Who created this message and who is sending it?
