Currently the FAA have not established minimum regulatory standards for UAS such as: the minimum performance standards for civil UAS, regulatory standards for UAS design, pilot, and crew qualifications along with everything needed to run a UAS operation, need to standardized UAS air traffic controller procedures, organizational UAS integration oversight, and not a good enough framework for sharing and analyzing safety data. Due to the complexity of the UAS in the NAS project, the student expects for evidence of sound, ethical management principals to be incorporated into this paper. Found in the NASA archives is a technical report on a survey response by ATC, manned pilots, and UAS pilots on the project. This source is a PDF and written by five researchers from the Langley Research Center, Stinger Ghaffarian Technologies, and Northrop Grumman Technical Services. Another technical report in PDF format located in the NTRS will be used on the UAS contingency management.
