21 Profitability and Leverage Sampling and Data Source The research was carried out on the five textile companies. These companies are: Al Haj Textiles Mills Ltd. Envoy Textiles Hamid Fabrics Ltd. Apex Spinning & Knitting Mills Ltd. Square Textiles Ltd. Data used in this study are secondary data cause the data related to the variables we are measuring is usually done by the companies themselves primarily. We used the financial statements from the annual financial reports published by those companies that in the period 2013-2017 to gather the necessary data. Data Analysis Descriptive Statistics In the descriptive status, the mean value is probably the most commonly used method of describing average value or the central tendency of a data group. The Median is the score which is found at the exact middle of the set of values. The minimum and the maximum value represents the smallest and the largest value in the dataset respectively. The standard deviation is a statistic that measures the dispersion of a dataset relative to its mean. If the data points are further from the mean, there is a higher deviation within the data set; thus, the more spread out the data, the higher the standard deviation.
