The Aftermath of Rape Many rape victims are afraid to come out and speak up about their experiences due to the fear of victimization. In most cases, it is always out of their control due to being drugged, and they may even regain consciousness still not aware of what they have gone through (The Aftermath of Being a Victim of Rape, 2018). It is, however, important to have facilities necessary to help the victims both emotionally and psychologically to prevent trauma that comes as a result of rape. If appropriate resources are put in place to help the victims, then more people will come out, report cases of rape and share their experiences.
