opinion by stating that the soul dies when a person dies, which is similar to the beliefs of the philosopher, Aristotle. About a week later when Robert dies, his soul goes to heaven and is greeted by Jesus; a symbol of God. passes away! Sophie visits his grave and she hopes the Doctor’s soul died when he did because that is what he believed in/what he wanted. The moral of this comic strip is that there are different thoughts on what happens to the soul after death. Nobody knows which thought is the correct one; it all depends on what you choose to believe. Robert and his daughter Sophie had similar beliefs to those of Descartes; they symbolize many Christians who think there is a place called Heaven. Therefore, Robert’s soul after his death goes to Heaven. The Doctor’s opinion was based on Aristotle’s philosophies; they symbolize several Atheists who think the soul is dead when a living thing is dead. Thus, it is believed that the Doctor’s soul will die after his death along with his body. There are two different opinions presented in this comic strip to show that no one is certain of what actually does occur to the soul, but they do have their own thoughts and opinions often based on their religion. The concept of the soul could also be considered to be an idea similar to idealism, because there is no proof of what a soul actually is; it is an idea people formed in their minds. 4
