We stopped a couple times to get food and to stretch our legs but the breaks never seemed to be long enough. Our legs were so sore and everyone seemed so cranky. This did not seem like a very nice ‘new life adventure’ at all. When we finally arrived at our new house I was in shock. Not only had we moved away from all my friends but then we bought a house in the rural area, I had one neighbor and even that house was far away. This was completely out of my norm (TCO 4 & 7). I grew up in the city with everyone so close to everything. Stores were just a block away, the park was in our neighborhood and all my friends were just down the street. This aggravated me greatly; I did not know how to rationally respond to my mother’s decision making, as a young child I left like she was trying to hurt me. A couple weeks after I arrived I started at my nice new middle-class (TCO 3 & 5) private school. My first day was the roughest, everyone already had their friends and their social groups (TCO 5 & 6) that they were a part of, and then there was just me. I no longer lived in a subdivision so I never even had a chance to make friends with anyone. I also had a speech impediment and had a foreign accent which also helped a lot with separating me from many of the other children.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
