8.3 - For proving means use T values. T becomes the test statistic and the p value is therefore the percent of values possessing the conditions detailed in the sample T- VALUES - relate the values of a sample to the values of the population 9.1- Take the null as true. How different are the values of the alternative hypothesis to the value of the null If it is true then the populations of the statistics must also be true. P-value is equal to the are of the Z value Z value is found in the difference between the difference of the population (assuming that the null is true this is = to zero ) and the difference in the statistics. Divided by the combined std. The combined std is the the value gotten from taking from using the total proportion divided by the sample size of the two statistics and adding them together and squaring them total proportion- is the proportion gotten from the total success and the total sample size Cvm- Margin of error is found by finding the z of the critical value and dividing it by the total independant std, thus leaving us with the distance from the center, 0, that defines the critical range We take the critical range value and add and subtract that that to the difference in the two proportions. This tells us if the difference is defined as significant.

### What students are saying

• As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

Kiran Temple University Fox School of Business ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

Dana University of Pennsylvania ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
