N4455 Nursing Leadership and Management 3. 11/14/17, 2:30pm, I was able to observe a staff huddle (mini-meeting). In the last week our small department has lost two nurses, which puts us fairly short and will make for busy days during a very busy time of year. We have a night nurse that we are planning on pulling to work days to help with staffing. When the night nurse is working nights our staff only has to take one call shift per schedule, but when she isn’t they have to take two call shifts, so by pulling her we are increasing the amount of call each nurse takes. Of course, none of this information that needed to passed on was good. Not only are the nurses going to have to work harder and with less help, they will also have to take extra call and during the holiday season as well. Suffice it to say, the information that needed to be delivered was not happy news. I was able to observe my director’s communication style and how she delivered bad news to the staff. I observed how she collaborated with staff to have them “buy in” to the fix of having the night nurse work days. I looking for team building skills to be used during a difficult time. I was also observing staff reactions to the message the director was delivering. Nurse Leader’s Contact Information For verification of the plan and any questions your Instructor or Academic Coach may have, please provide contact information for the nurse leader with whom you will be working. Include name, title, credentials, phone, and email. As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
