Decision-making is one of the most important roles of businesses. It is the duty of managers to make decisions which they think will make positive contributions to the development of the organization. The decisions which manage make are capable of dictating the direction which an organization makes in its quest to achieve its mission. One of the issues which managers need to take care of in the process of decision-making is to understand the complexity of the current issues which are faced in the industry (Huimin and Ryan, 2011). As days go, hotels are increasingly experiencing highly complex issues which they need to consider in their decision-making processes. For instance, issues of race, gender and religion are in increasingly becoming matters of concern and it is necessary for managers to make sure that they ethically consider these issues when they are making decisions. For example, the issues of transgender and race are increasingly becoming issues of concern and it is necessary for hotel managers to make sure that they consider the interests and rights of these individuals when managers are making decisions concerning the management of hotels. It is also important to note that managers play an important role in the development of internal policies and standards which determine and regulate the behavior of employees. Thus, the development of codes of conduct which are in line with the ethical principles of the organizations is likely to play a crucial role in improving the ability of businesses to enforce prudent practices. Yilmaz and Yilmaz (2016) suggest that hotel managers are also expected to participate in the development of ethical practices which guide the behavior of employees. Besides, it is the responsibility of the hotel manages to make sure that they monitor the activities of employees so as to confirm whether or not they are acting in accordance with the ethical guidelines of the organization. Finally, it is the responsibility of hotel managers to make sure that there is accountability in the hotels. As an ethical principle, accountability refers to the readiness and preparedness of an organization to provide reasons and justifications for its actions, intentions, or judgment. In sum, accountability is the ability to provide a reasonable defense. In many instances when organizations take actions or make a decision, it is possible that some of the decisions which the people make may not give the desired results.
