Many organisations report on environmental performance through such things as impacts and initiatives. Social reporting is a developing area and Westpac Banking Corporation recently produced a social impact report covering such things as: •Employee turnover and job creation, employee satisfaction, management remuneration, female/male salary comparison •Institutional banking including third world debt and global country profiles •Suppliers including social and environmental checking on practices employed The `balanced scorecard' is a performance reporting system which complements the traditional financial measures of past performance with measures of the drivers of future performance in relation to: •Customers - performance measures relating to things such as market share, customer acquisition, retention, satisfaction and profitability •Internal organisational processes-things which the organisation must do well if it is to achieve its objectives •Learning and growth, e.g. employee satisfaction, productivity and retention.
