PERSONAL WORLDVIEW & BUSINESS ETHICS 7 Ethical Practices #2 Levi Strauss is another company acknowledged for its positive ethical practices. Levi Strauss announced that it would partner with the International Finance Corporation to reward suppliers in developing countries who score highly on environmental, health, safety and labor standards. According to Teague, “The reward for such ethical activities will be lower cost rates on working capital financing. The apparel manufacturer’s efforts are a great example of the economic benefits that can accrue to companies that pursue sustainability and promote ethics in their supply chains” (Teague, 2014). Conclusion In conclusion, it is more rewarding for businesses to operate ethically rather than unethically. A reputation for ethical decisions builds trust in your business among business associates and providers. Strong supplier relationships are vital to a successful job. Consumers will more likely support businesses that display ethical behavior over those that do not. Remember as we read in Proverbs 22:1, “A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.” (Holy Bible, New International Version, 2001)
