Exams : Your course grade will be based on four online exams. Exams 1-4 will be available on Blackboard from Thursday 12:05 a.m. to Sunday 11:55 p.m. during the week they are offered: Exam 1 is scheduled for Week 4 , so it will be available on Blackboard from 12:05 a.m. on Thursday morning, February 2nd to 11:55 p.m. on Sunday night, February 5th. Exam 2 is scheduled for Week 7 , so it will be available on Blackboard from 12:05 a.m. on Thursday morning, February 23rd to 11:55 p.m. on Sunday night, February 26th. Exam 3 is scheduled for Week 11 , so it will be available on Blackboard from 12:05 a.m. on Thursday morning, March 23rd to 11:55 p.m. on Sunday night, March 26th. Exam 4 is scheduled for Week 15 , so it will be available on Blackboard from 12:05 a.m. on Thursday morning, April 20th to 11:55 p.m. on Sunday night, April 23rd. Reminders of exam times will also be sent via Blackboard announcements to our class. Each exam will have 45 multiple choice questions (scaled to 50 points on the 200-point grading scale when I compute your grade for Blackboard). The exams are open-book/open- note and you will have 90 minutes to complete the exam once you begin to take it. You will not have enough time to look up the answer for each question if you have not studied enough, so it's really critical that you review thoroughly the narrated PowerPoint slides and textbook readings to finish within the allotted time. I will also offer an optional comprehensive fifth exam (Exam 5) on campus during Finals Week for (a) those of you who may have missed one of the first four exams, in which case I will use your Exam 5 score in place of your missing exam, or; (2) those who may wish to try to improve on the lowest score among your four main exams, in which case if you do score higher than that lowest main exam score, I will substitute your Exam 5 score for that lowest score. Please note the word "comprehensive" in the previous sentence; the optional fifth exam will draw on material from the entire semester and therefore you will need to study accordingly if you opt to take this exam. Multiple-choice questions are shown one-at-a-time on each exam (i.e., you cannot see all of the questions together, either during the exam-taking or after it is completed, as 2

1.8.17 you would on a paper exam, nor can you back-track to previous questions). As you complete each question, the next one appears and the process repeats itself until you have finished all of the questions. This one-at-a-time presentation is essential to maintain the academic integrity of the course for all students, since the exams are available for several days, are open-note/book, and are being taken remotely at multiple locations. There is also no final grade shown immediately after you finish the exam, only the raw number correct ; the reason for this is that I typically curve all exam scores upward (never downward) and therefore any uncurved point score shown to you immediately upon completing the exam would not be valid. The definitive grade you obtain on each exam will be accessible in the Blackboard grade-book I update.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
