Uncertainty Avoidance Uncertainty is the most certain thing according to scholars which will arise during the operations of a firm. Especially in the case of starting operations in another country, uncertainties arise due to differences in culture. The future is not known which variates the anxiety and confusion level among different cultures. Uncertainty avoidance index shows the intensity of the threat and ambiguity felt by the members of society towards uncertainty. Poland has a score of 93 which is quite high and shows that the cultural possess the trait of avoiding uncertainty or threatened to have uncertainty in the future (Hofstede’s Insights, 2019). On the other hand, UAI of UK is 35 which shows a great difference between the two countries. The parent companies of the UK need to consider this issue and should deploy the culture where individuals are not threatened by the uncertainty (Hofstede’s Insights, 2019). The higher executives should join call centers where uncertainty is expected to be more often as the receiver does not know what will be the issue on next call. 7 feeling that the bosses above will handle the situations. The British companies should gradually inject the culture in Polish call centers otherwise the performance will be affected adversely. Masculinity Masculinity is another dimension which defines the culture of a society. If the score is high on masculinity index then the culture shows competition, achievement, and success. The success can be confirmed by competing in society and outstanding other participants in the field. While the low score on MI shows the feminine nature e of the society (Hofstede’s Insights, 2019). The feminine nature is more inclined towards caring about other participants and quality of life. The core of Poland and Up does not differentiate which is 66 and 64 respectively. The score is high which shows the masculine nature of the society (Hofstede’s Insights, 2019). It does not mean; women do not work in these societies but nature is competition oriented. The competitive, performance and resolving conflicts are the major factors in this society. UK companies need to keep the competition in call centers of Poland which is driven by success through hard work. Criticism towards the Issue The overall look of the situation can be decided by Hofstede model as the hierarchical culture should be implemented by UK companies in Polish call centers which have the dark side as the creativity cannot prevail in such structure. Creativity can be brought when individuals are set free to some extent. The companies need to be an individualistic little bit which also has the drawback of one-way communication where subordinates are not much encouraged to put forth there point of view. The masculinity should be there which may have jealousy and leg pulling within the competition as the success is not collective but the individuals achieve success through competition. Moreover, the uncertainty should be managed by upper British executives
