got as far as jury selection. After a while, Mr. Keller decided that he would take a statutory settlement of $25,000 that West Coast had put on the table before the trial. This offer had expired, so Mr. Keller dropped his demands until they were steady at $10,000. The judge was trying to urge a settlement, but Mr. Herold still did not like the idea of settling. He realized that prolonging this was keeping valuable people out of work, so he came up with an idea, he told Mr. Keller and his lawyer that he would settle under one condition, if Mr. Keller and his lawyer gave him a signed apology letter with language approved by him. With those letters, he would give Mr. Keller $12,500. Mr. Keller agreed. Answer to Question No. 6 In this type of case, if the plaintiff prevails, a monetary reward is typically what comes out of it. When the plaintiff is able to prove their case, the wrongful party, must pay damages. If they did not have the right to terminate, the employer must pay up. A judge will ultimately make the decision as to what is paid but something will be paid. The only other result is if a settlement is reached and then the plaintiff will get the amount of that agreement.
